These special awards are not directly open to entry except the Bickford’s Australia Leader Award which is open to individual entry. They are presented to individuals or businesses that are judged by a panel of industry experts, or through the Regional Awards Program or by consumers.
SAN REMO Hall of Fame
Aim: To recognise an individual or business that has demonstrated ongoing high-level success in their designated profession and has made a significant and sustainable contribution to South Australia’s food industry.
Eligibility: Hall of Fame is judged by a panel of industry experts and is not open to entry.
THE UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE Education Award
Aim: To recognise an individual or business that demonstrates commitment to education and training in order to develop its people and improve overall performance.
Eligibility: Education Award is judged by a panel of industry experts and is not open to entry.
PRIMARY INDUSTRIES AND REGIONS SOUTH AUSTRALIA Duncan Macgillivray Entrepreneur Award
Aim: To recognise a passionate individual who has developed and driven a successful entrepreneurial idea for the food industry that encompasses the current award categories (innovation, export, new product, sustainability, primary producer or people skills development).
Eligibility: Duncan MacGillivray Entrepreneur Award is judged by a panel of industry experts and is not open to entry.
PRIMARY INDUSTRIES AND REGIONS SOUTH AUSTRALIA Regional Award
Aim: To recognise a regional food company, producing or manufacturing, that has contributed to their regional community and sets a benchmark for excellence.
Eligibility: Entry to this Award is through the Brand South Australia Regional Awards and judged by a panel of industry experts. The winner will be selected from the Brand South Australia Regional Award finalists with consideration of the aim of the Primary Industries and Regions South Australia Regional Award.
BICKFORD’S GROUP Leader Award
This special award is open to individual entry. It provides the opportunity for high achievers to be acknowledged for leadership excellence.
Aim: To recognise an individual within the South Australian food industry who has a commitment to excellence and who inspires and influences others. They will demonstrate evidence of leadership, creativity and achieving goals, leading to a shared vision within their own business and across the industry.
Eligibility: An individual working in the South Australian food industry.

STATEWIDE SUPER Consumer Award
Aim: To enable South Australian consumers to vote for their favourite South Australian food business, and to drive consumer recognition and engagement with South Australian brands.

Entry is limited to one vote per person.
The 2017 winner Robern Menz is not eligible to win in 2018, so their votes will not be counted.
