In 2018, we are proudly celebrating 20 successful years for the South Australian Food Industry Awards, our state’s premier award program for the food and beverage industry.

The South Australian Food Industry Awards Program celebrates excellence in our state’s dynamic food and beverage industry. These awards recognise both businesses and individuals who are making their mark in our food and beverage industry by demonstrating outstanding vision, leadership and innovation.

A message from the Premier

The South Australian food and beverage industry plays an important role in our state’s economy, contributing almost half of our total merchandise exports and generating nearly $20 billion in revenue in 2016/17.

It’s an industry focused on innovation and growth – in jobs and skills as well as in food and beverage products. Past winners of these awards have gone on to become iconic brands nationally and internationally, while participating in the awards program has helped open doors to new export markets for some of our state’s more recently established manufacturers who are responding in exciting ways to the ever-changing demands of consumers around the world.

That’s why the State Government is supporting key programs and initiatives in the sector, and working with Food South Australia to grow markets and capabilities for our local food and beverage businesses.

The State Government is pleased to support the South Australian Food Industry Awards Program, and I encourage food and beverage businesses across South Australia to enter the Awards in 2018.

This will be a very special year to be recognised for your achievements as we celebrate 20 years of success for the Awards Program, and the South Australian food and beverage industry.

A message from Food South Australia

Food South Australia is very proud to manage and host the South Australian Food Industry Awards Program.

Since their inception 20 years ago, these awards have helped to build market and consumer recognition of excellence and innovation in the South Australian food and beverage industry. In very real terms, participation in these awards has helped many South Australian food and beverage businesses to raise their profile in key markets and with key customers in Australia, and internationally, helping to grow these businesses and the contribution our industry makes to South Australia’s economy.

Entry in these awards also gives businesses a chance to benchmark their processes and strategies against the best. Our expert judges have a deep knowledge and experience across the industry. Our past award entrants have told us the process of documenting their strategies and successes, and participating in the judging process, provides both valuable insights and an opportunity to work ‘on’, instead of just ‘in’, their business.

In this, the program’s 20th year, we once again congratulate all our past winners, many of whom have become household names well beyond South Australia. We would also like to acknowledge and thank the Government of South Australia for their ongoing support of this important and prestigious program. And most importantly, we encourage all our state’s food and beverage businesses to enter in this very important anniversary year of the South Australian Food Industry Awards.
